Victoria Hurricanes Return

On Monday, July 12 on the Hurricanes Facebook page, the team announced they are returning to league play in the newly formed, Gulf Coast Association Football. Also during the week, former Head Coach Corey Boyd announced on his Instagram account that he will be returning replacing Jojo Barnes, who passed away in 2020 due to the Corona virus.

The Victoria Hurricanes last played in 2019 in the former Crossroads Amateur Football League. The team, which started out as the Victoria Texans, won CRAFL Bowl III in 2013 as the Texans and CRAFL Bowl VII in 2017 as the Hurricanes. The Hurricanes made it to the 2018 CRAFL Championship game but fell to the Houston Ducks.

Owner Rudy Guzman announced on January 2020 that the team would cease operations. During that time, the world saw a pandemic arise as Covid-19 changed the world including the taking the life of Coach Barnes.

Stay tuned to this website for more details on who is joining the league for the 2022 season.
